First of all, you have to undergo the application process of MIS. In the next step you have to apply for the “Work & Holiday” visa.

The Federal Republic of Germany and the Republic of Korea have a Working Holiday Visa (Tourism Employment Visa) agreement, allowing young Koreans (under 30 years) to experience German culture and daily life. The working holiday visa is valid for up to 12 months.
You can take advantage of this working holiday visa, which can be issued most easily for the purpose of this project. In regard to that, you can work as a freelancer artist or in a short-term contract (mini job) to cover your stay in Germany.
독일연방공화국과 대한민국은 워킹홀리데이 비자 계약을 체결하여 한국의 청년(30세 미만)이 독일 문화와 일상을 경험할 수 있도록 하고 있습니다. 워킹홀리데이 비자는 최대 12개월까지 유효합니다.
이 워킹홀리데이 비자는 이 프로젝트의 목적상 가장 쉽게 발급받을 수 있는 비자입니다. 이와 관련하여 프리랜서 아티스트로 일하거나 단기 계약직을 통해 독일 체류를 유지할 수 있습니다.
- Over 18 years old and under 30 years old (based on the time of visa application)
- Korean nationality
- No children allowed
- No spouse who is not eligible to apply
- Good health condition (no health check certificate required)
- 만 18 세 이상 30 세 이하(비자 신청 시점 기준)
- 대한민국 국적
- 자녀 동반 불가
- 신청자격이 되지 않는 배우자 동반 불가
- 양호한 건강상태 (건강검진증명서 불필요)
- Visa application form that is perfectly written and signed online
- Passport (passport valid during your stay in Germany (must bring), copy of the page with personal information)
- Passport photo with white background (3.5 x 4.5cm), taken within 6 months (Passport photo standard guide)
- Financial certificate: 1 original copy of the balance certificate (English, issued within a week) in the name of the person who has deposited at least 2,000 euros
- Insurance contract (English): Liability, illness, and accident insurance must be covered at least 30,000 euros (won 45,000,000) each abroad. Original 1 copy
- The purpose of insurance must be specified as Working Holiday or Overseas Travel.
- Valid liability insurance in Germany (guranted amount: at least 30,000 euros)
- Medical insurance valid in Germany (must include hospital expenses and transfer to Korea. Guarantee amount: at least 30,000 euros)
- Accident insurance in Germany (guranted amount: at least 30,000 euros)
– Insurance must be valid throughout your stay in Germany.
– You can choose the insurance company by yourself
- 여권(독일 체류기간 동안 유효한 여권 (필히 지참), 인적사항이 기재된 페이지 사본)
- 백색 배경의 여권 사진 (3.5 x 4.5cm), 6 개월 이내 촬영
- 재정증명서: 최소 2,000 유로 이상이 입금된 본인 명의의 잔고증명(영문, 일주일 이내 발급분) 원본 1부
- 보험계약서(영문): 해외에서 책임, 질병, 사고보험이 각 30,000 유로(원화 45,000,000) 이상 보장 되어야 한다. 원본 1부
- 보험의 목적은 Working Holiday or Overseas Travel 로 명시되어 있어야 한다.
- 독일에서 유효한 책임보험 (보장금액: 최소 30,000 유로)
- 독일에서 유효한 의료보험 (병원비 및 한국으로의 이송을 포함해야 한다. 보장금액: 최소 30,000 유로)
- 독일에서 사고보험 (보장금액 : 최소 30,000 유로)
– 보험은 독일 체류 기간 내내 유효해야 한다.
– 보험사는 본인이 선택하면 된다.
The visa application processing fee is 75 euros, and when applying for a visa, it must be converted into won at the same-day exchange rate. Even if the visa is denied or the applicant cancels the visa application, the fee will not be refunded.
비자신청 업무처리 수수료는 75 유로이며, 비자신청시 당일 환율로 환산하여 원화로 지불되어야 한다. 비자발급이 거부되거나 신청자가 비자신청을 취소하더라도 수수료는 환불되지 않는다.
- In some cases, the submission of additional documents may be required. (No employment certificate required)
– Motivation letter – Only for the following applicants:
Applicants who have previously received a permit to stay in Germany (excluding travel purposes), stay for less than 1 year (if 4 months to 1 year), if they are married, 18-20 years old or 28-30 years old - You must apply for a visa in person at the Consular Section of the German Embassy in Korea.
- The processing period takes about 3-5 days from the date of receipt.
- Even when submitting all the required documents, the legal requirement for visa issuance is not established. Working holiday stays in Germany are only available once. Those who have been issued a German working holiday visa cannot apply for a new one.
- 경우에 따라 추가 서류의 제출이 요구될 수 있다. (취업증명서 불필요)
– Motivation letter – 아래 해당 하는 신청자에 한함:
예전에 독일 체류 허가를 받은 경우 (여행 목적은 제외), 체류 기간이 1년 미만인 경우 (4개월-1년미만 일 경우), 기혼일 경우, 만 18-20세 또는 만 28-30세 해당 신청자 - 비자 신청은 본인이 직접 주한독일대사관 영사과에서 해야 한다.
- 처리기간은 접수일로부터 약 3-5일 소요된다.
- 구비 서류를 모두 제출할 시에도 비자발급에 대한 법적 요구는 성립되지 않는다. 독일에서의 워킹 홀리데이 체류는 1 회에 한해서만 가능하다. 독일 워킹홀리데이 비자를 발급받은 자는 신규 발급 신청할 수 없다.

Please bring a Visa or Mastercard (credit card) with you to have a proper payment method for the first few weeks in Germany.

Nevertheless, we are of course always on the lookout for new guest artists. Therefore, we are more than happy to receive applications for either guest spots by e-mail or via this website.

There is no deadline for applications. The application process can be entered anytime.
You can apply as a resident artist as well as a guest artist all year round.
